Terms of Service

Who you are contracting with
Fair Contracts is operated by Trailbits SRL, a company registered in Romania. Registered office: Sat Feleacu, Comuna Feleacu, Nr. 677C, Jud. Cluj, România. CIF (VAT id): RO55107625. Trade register (Registrul Comerțului): J2026042527004. Support: contact@fair-contracts.com. When these Terms say "we", "us" or "Fair Contracts", they mean Trailbits SRL.
Not legal advice
Fair Contracts is an informational tool that explains contracts in plain language. It is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Using it creates no lawyer–client relationship. For any decision that matters, consult a licensed professional in your country. You remain responsible for the contracts you sign.
Who may use Fair Contracts
You must be at least 18 to buy anything here, because a purchase is a contract. If you are between 16 and 18 you may use the free preview and the sample contracts, but not the paid features. We do not knowingly provide the service to anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly process their personal data.
The service
Here is what you get, plainly. The sample contracts are free, unlimited, and always fully visible. When you upload your own document, we analyze it and show you a free preview — the fairness score, the overall verdict, the document type, how many red flags we found, and your single most serious red flag. Previews are unlimited; there is no monthly cap.
The full report — every clause explained, all red flags with negotiation tips, deadlines, the Q&A chat, and the negotiation email generator — requires either a one-time unlock for that single report, a one-time report pack of six unlocks (the credits do not expire), or the Business subscription (billed monthly or annually), which covers full reports on every document you analyze. Current prices are shown on the pricing page and at checkout.
You may only analyze documents you have the right to analyze. Don't use Fair Contracts to break the law, infringe others' rights, or upload content you have no right to share. We may suspend access that is abusive or that threatens the service.
Fair use
"Unlimited" reports under the Business subscription means unlimited fair use by one account for your own personal or business needs. It does not cover automated or scripted analysis at scale, sharing one account across an organization, or reselling analyses as a service. If usage looks like that, we may throttle it or contact you about a plan that fits.
Payments, refunds, and your right of withdrawal
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe directly — we never see or store them. Prices are shown inclusive of VAT where it applies.
A single report. A report is digital content delivered immediately, so EU law lets you choose speed over the usual cooling-off period: by purchasing, you expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose the 14-day right of withdrawal once the report is delivered to you. We collect that consent at checkout, before you pay.
A subscription. A subscription is a service rather than a one-off delivery, so the 14-day right of withdrawal does not disappear when it starts. If you asked us to start immediately and then withdraw within those 14 days, you pay only for the part already provided, proportionate to the time elapsed — except that any full report already generated and delivered to you is not refundable, because that part has been performed.
Your statutory rights are unaffected. If a report or the service is faulty, incomplete, or not as described, you are entitled to have it brought into conformity and, where that is not possible or we do not do it within a reasonable time, to a price reduction or a refund under EU rules on digital content and digital services. Write to us and we will sort it out.
Whenever checkout is labeled as a demo on the checkout page itself, purchases are simulated and no real payment is taken; entitlements granted that way may be reset when real payments launch. When no demo label is shown, checkout is real and the paragraph above applies.
How to withdraw
Where you still have a right of withdrawal — that is, for a subscription, and for a single report you have not yet asked us to deliver immediately — you have 14 days to use it. The period starts the day after the contract is concluded, which for us is the day after your payment goes through.
To withdraw, tell us in any clear statement — an email is enough. Write to contact@fair-contracts.com or post to Trailbits SRL, Sat Feleacu, Comuna Feleacu, Nr. 677C, Jud. Cluj, România. You do not have to give a reason. Sending the notice before the 14 days are up is enough — it does not have to reach us within them. We will refund you within 14 days of being told, using the same payment method you paid with, at no cost to you.
To cancel a subscription for the future rather than withdraw from it, use the cancellation page — no sign-in required.

You may use this form, but you do not have to.

Who owns what
Your documents stay yours. Uploading one gives us a narrow permission and nothing more: to store, transmit and process that document for as long as it takes to produce your analysis and, where you have an account, to keep the result available to you. We do not use your documents to train models, we do not sell or share them, and the permission ends when you delete the document or your account.
Your report is yours too. The analysis we generate for you is yours to keep, print, share, send to the other side of the contract, or quote in a negotiation. You need no permission from us to use it, including commercially.
Ours stays ours. The Fair Contracts name, the site, its design, its software and the sample contracts we publish belong to Trailbits SRL. You may not copy the service itself, scrape it in bulk, or resell access to it.
Renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period — monthly or annual, whichever you chose — at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. We will tell you in advance if a renewal price changes, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
You can cancel at any time, yourself, from your account page: the "Manage billing" button opens our payment provider's billing portal, where cancelling takes one click. No notice period, no email required, no reason needed. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and we do not refund the remainder of that period unless the law requires it or we have got something wrong. Unlock credits you have already bought are yours and survive cancellation.
We may end or suspend an account for serious or repeated breach of these Terms, or where use threatens the service. Except where the breach makes it impossible, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right, and we will refund the unused part of a period you have paid for.
Accuracy
We work hard to make analyses helpful, but automated analysis can miss things or be wrong, and laws differ by country. Treat the output as a well-informed starting point, not a guarantee. Verify anything important before you rely on it.
Liability
We are liable to you for breaking this contract or for negligence, but that liability is limited. For any claim, our total liability is capped at the greater of €100 or the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit, revenue, business opportunity or goodwill, or for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you started using Fair Contracts.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for intent or gross negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you. Your mandatory consumer rights always come first — if any part of this section conflicts with them, that part does not apply to you and the rest still stands.
We deliberately do not exclude liability for decisions you make on the strength of a report. That is the one kind of loss this product could cause, and an exclusion aimed squarely at it would be worth nothing anyway. The limits above apply instead — alongside the honest warning that automated analysis can be wrong and is not a substitute for a lawyer.
Changes
We may update these Terms — for example when the service changes, or when the law does. Minor changes (clarifications, typos, new contact details) take effect when we update the date above.
For a material change — anything affecting price, what you get, or your rights — we will tell account holders by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not accept it, you may cancel before then and we will refund the unused part of any period you have already paid for. If you keep using Fair Contracts after the change takes effect, that counts as accepting it.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Romanian law. If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring disputes before your local courts. Before going to court, you can turn to the consumer protection authority in your country — in Romania that is ANPC (anpc.ro). We are not committed to a specific alternative dispute-resolution body. We would rather you simply write to us first — most problems are fixable by email.
Fair Contracts is an informational tool, not legal advice, and using it creates no lawyer–client relationship. For decisions that matter, consult a licensed professional in your country.
